Abstract

Choosing a career is not a one short affair. It is a prolonged process. Career psychologists have been emphasizing the selection of right kind of people in right kind of work in various occupations. Changing patterns of career, the work environment, etc; in the globalization era seems to be difficult for an individual to make wise decisions with regard to his/her career.t has been a common observations that many of the teachers coming for the in-service training reveals that they had taken up the teaching as a career not by choice but by chance. It is in this context, an attempt has been made to look into the career choices of the school teachers, as who have already made their career choice, how realistic was the choice made by them.
