The study was conducted in district Meerut during 2017-18 to investigate the problems faced by wheat growers. To this study, primary data was collected through a pre-structured interview schedule using a sample of size one hundred sixty allocating to four blocks selected purposely, each comprising four villages selected on the basis of highest production area of wheat and 10 farmers selected from each village. Thus total sample size 160 farmers were selected for study. The data presented in the above table revealed that maximum wheat growers were related to high prices of new seeds, fertilizer & chemical, it was ranked first. The findings revealed that the majority of the respondents lack of knowledge about micro nutrients ranked second followed by lack of knowledge about bio-fertilizer was ranked third. The suitable extension strategy for promotion of wheat production creates knowledge and awareness about improved wheat production technology for wheat growers through training, meetings, demonstrations and media exposure on different aspects of wheat production technology in the study area.
