From June 2017 to May 2018, adult mosquitoes were collected weekly in different buildings under construction, surrounded by some garden around the houses in, Haridwar district Bhagwanpur, an industrial area. A total of 431 Aedes mosquitoes were identified 310 female and 121 male. The number of positive houses was highest in February –May 2018 and declined in August to December 2017. The density of Aedes aegypti intra domiciliary was higher than extra domiciliary. The study continued every months and was divided into three seasons, January to June(pre monsoon), July to September(monsoon) and October to November (post monsoon). Larval mosquitoes were collected from all wet containers present in and around houses. We are expecting more and more cases of dengue this year too. Since there is a lack of information on the bionomics of the recognized vectors of dengue from this region, it has been planned to determine the efficacy of monitoring the distribution and abundance of Aedes species in the different urban and suburban area of district Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
